Walk into the Light Penang 2010

Inspired by the walk held in US to prevent suicides called “Out of the Darkness”, D’Home and Penang Care aim to bring this meaningful event to Penang, giving it a new face by giving it new meaning.

Walk into the Light aims to raise fund for D’Home and Penang Care. More importantly, this walk is to increase public awareness towards the importance of maintaining mental health, and early detection and treatment of mental disorders so as to prevent future suicides. The walk serves as a wakeup call to educate the public about the importance of prevention than cure, and how the participating NGOs can serve as point of reference, a sounding board for advice and support. Walk into the Light aims to attract 1,5000 participants in its inauguration and set to raise RM200,000 for the NGOs.

Starting Time: 6.15am

Registration Fees: RM25

Distance: 3.5km
*T-shirt will be provided and all participants are entitled to the lucky draw.
Lucky Draw:
1. All participants are entitled to the lucky draw.
2. Every participant is required to take a walkathon card. The 10 highest collectors will receive special prizes.
Payments can be made either by:
a. cash; or
b. cheque (made payable to "Persatuan Minda D'Home" and crossed. Please specify that the cheque is for ‘The Walk’.); or
c. bank in to D’ Home Mental Health Association account (CIMB No. 0715-000-5460-055) or Penang Care account (CIMB 0737-000-2142-056) and send us the bank in slip or online transfer receipt.

3. Registration is only successful after payment has been received by D’ Home Mental Health Association.
4. Proof of posting will NOT be accepted as proof of entry. However, for the purpose of verification, participants are advised to bring along their Confirmation Receipt/ Banker's Check slip as proof.
Note: Registration fee is strictly not refundable and non-transferable. No refund will be made for wrongful or multiple entries.
