Nature Trails with Hearts Walkathon 2010

POPULAR comic strip character Old Master Q and his sidekick Big Potato will lend their support for the Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) Walkathon 2010 on Sept 26.

The walkathon, themed ‘Nature Trails with Hearts’, is to raise funds to help provide free heart surgeries for the needy.
The two persons dressed as Old Master Q and Big Potato will help create awareness on heart diseases during the event.
PAH chief operating officer Dr Toh See Wei said the hospital hoped to raise RM150,000 through the walk for its Heart Patient’s Fund which was set up in 1988 to continuously provide free heart surgeries for the poor.
“The money raised will help us subsidise these surgeries,” he said.
Registration for the event is RM20 per person. Registered walkers are also encouraged to collect donations via donation cards given to them.

Entry form can be obtained from the hospital’s Development Department.
The hospital has also launched a ‘Save-A-Heart’ campaign to raise RM50,000 for the same fund through the sale of heart-shaped coin boxes which are priced at RM10 each.

Date: 26th September 2010, Sunday
Venue: Football Field behind Penang Adventist Hospital
Starting Time: 8am
Registration Fee: RM20
