For the 1st leg of the triathlon, participants for the very first time will have the opportunity to swim in the sea at a protected bay at Teluk Bahang. Extensive jellyfish preventive measures including netting to secure the site and repeated trawling few days running up to the event will be deployed.
For the duathlon, the 1st leg, will be a pleasant short 5.5 km run along village setting but beware of the climb up the dam for the last 1 or 2 km. It will be a short and brutal uphill before you could greet your precious bicycle at T1 at the dam vicinity.
The triathlon and duathlon will merge for the 2nd leg. It will be a challenging climb towards Balik Pulau. The 40 km route will lead you through durian plantations and enchanting orchards with cascading waterfalls. The thick foliage on both sides of the deserted road will offer some respite to the heat. Towards Kampong Betong, almost without fail, the villagers and their kids will come out in full force to cheer you on.
The final leg will be a 10 Km run, almost the same as the 1st leg but looping twice.
Finally, we hope all participants will enjoyed his event on our lovely island as much as we have enjoyed organizing it.
