TESCO Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd will be organising a Walk for Schools charity walk to collect a minimum ofRM100,000 which will benefit 100 schools in the Klang Valley.
The programme, endorsed by the Ministry of Education, began on Jan 1 and culminates on March 7 in a 4.5km walk at 8am at Dataran Merdeka. About 5,000 people are expected to participate in the walk.
The 100 schools that will benefit from the Walk for Schools programme are those that are situated within a 5km radius from the 12 Tesco stores in the Klang Valley.

“This is our way of giving back to the community in which Tesco stores are situated. We always aim to make a positive contribution to the communities we are in, both in the way we do business and by supporting local causes. One of the ways is to help schools in the communities that we are in,” said corporate affairs directorMarlene Kaur.
Entry forms are available at all Tesco stores and participants of the Walk for Schools will need to pay a registration fee of RM10 for adults and RM5 for school children.
