ABOUT THE WALK

Mahkota Parade is undergoing a major refurbishment which started from July 2009 and will end by April 2010. To mark the completion of the refurbishment, the Centre is relaunching with a Charity Fashion Fun Walk for Yayasan Toh Puan Zurina. This one-of-a-kind event combines fashion with charity, where participants can make a statement with their fashion sense in order to raise awareness and bring hope to needy kidney patients.
Fun and fashion are the main themes of the walk. Therefore, participants MUST be fashionably dressed. Ladies must come in full costume jewellery and trendy wear; heels are optional. Men must wear colourful and fashionable clothing. Kids must come in colourful and trendy clothing. However, traditional attire is also welcomed. This event is open to the public.

Kordel's Charity Walk for Arthritis 2010

Kordel's Walk for Arthritis 2010 is a charity drive to increase public awareness and raises fund to fight arthritis. The fund raised will support the Arthritis Foundation Malaysia in initiating public health efforts to improve the living quality of people with arthritis. Also the fund will be channelled by AFM to help joint replacement of arthritis patient in the future.

Dress in your most creative outfit in Kordel's t-shirt and enjoy a great walk to promote healthy joints.

Jelajah 1 Malaysia 2010

Introductions:

Jelajah Malaysia is the oldest bicycle race in Malaysia and it is ranked 2.2 class by UCI (Union Cyclist Internationale). Since its inception in 1963, Jelajah Malaysia is slowly and steadily beginning to be one of the most prestigious bicycle race amongst Asian and International teams.
Through wide coverage that is empowered by local and international media, Jelajah Malaysia had proven itself as an important event in promoting Malaysia to the world as a tourism and leisure destination.
It is a platform for young Malaysian riders to compete and gain valuable experience in a cycling race. Currently many riders that is representing Malaysia now starts from their participation in the Jelajah Malaysia and the number of Malaysian riders that is accepted into international teams had increased. The exposure through Jelajah Malaysia makes the Malaysian rider a great bicycle rider for the future.

Jelajah Malaysia 2010:
Jelajah Malaysia for 2010 will start from Selangor through Perak, Pulau Pinang, Kedah and Perlis with 5 stages from 27th April to 1st May 2010; Jelajah Malaysia will have a criterium one day race after that in Langkawi Island on 2nd May, 2010.
At all the START and FINISH, the organizer will create mini carnivals which will incorporate recreational and entertainment activities and also exhibition site for Government and Private sector to display their goods and services. It is envisaged that a local crowd between 10,000 to 15,000 people will participate in these festivities.
The Organiser also realizes that it is important to promote the event to the nation, these side events will be telecast nationally so that the whole nation will be able to see the local culture that is on display either live or delayed. The Organiser believe in giving value back for Sponsor’s contribution for the event. In terms of sponsor benefits, the Organiser will provide maximum exposure locally and internationally. With technical branding items, advertising materials, promotions and air time slot, all sponsors should be satisfied with the returns for their investment.

Gain Stroller Chase

This year's Kids Run will see an added, new and unique running category that targets children between the ages of 6 months old and 23 months old.

The 'Gain Stroller Chase', a non-competitive 800 metres fun run is especially tailored for parents and their infants and toddlers. This new category aspires to reach out to all children, including those who have yet to start learning how to walk, much less run. As the title suggests, the race involves on parent strolling their child in a pram down the race track.
Spread the word and be one of the first parents to try this new and exciting race category in Singapore. It's never too early to start cultivating an active lifestyle for your young ones!

iWalk 2010 - Singapore

One of the objectives of iWalk 2010 is to help raise funds for the various groups and organisations under the umbrella of the Presbyterian Community Services and to spread the message of:

“Every step counts towards health and charity”.

Presbyterian Community Services (PCS) is a voluntary welfare organization started in 1974 and a registered member of the National Council of Social Service. PCS is also a charitable body under the Commissioner of Charities. The main thrust of PCS’s operations:

- Childcare with Integrated Childcare Programme for children with special needs
- Student Care
- Elder Care
- Emergency Relief Fund

ABOUT iWALK

iWalk 2010 is Singapore’s first ever race-walking event. Race walking is the closest alternative to running. It is equally aerobic compared to running, minus the impact. Once basic technique is mastered, race walking is actually an easier sport to progress within because competitors avoid the injuries that continually plague runners.
