Welcome to the world..eer..still to be call a 'world' maybe..just a small network among few of us who are bunch of newbies, weirdo's, professional..mm..what ever u like to call it! Team members including a cockroaches, fatdog, a clam(lala), a father of two who always saying some unexpected funny words & with his trademark quote..'nandieyohhhhhh'! and an old man..well..just a piece of shitttt whose favourites is 'mat salleh herbal tea' & ya..'what is life without herbal tea'! hehehhh! And of course..there are those weirdo's who never show up yet but im sure will be inserted soon enough!

Hopefully everyone would be logging in and write up some stories from time to time, from now on.

iWalk 2010 - Singapore

One of the objectives of iWalk 2010 is to help raise funds for the various groups and organisations under the umbrella of the Presbyterian Community Services and to spread the message of:

“Every step counts towards health and charity”.

Presbyterian Community Services (PCS) is a voluntary welfare organization started in 1974 and a registered member of the National Council of Social Service. PCS is also a charitable body under the Commissioner of Charities. The main thrust of PCS’s operations:
- Infant Care
- Childcare with Integrated Childcare Programme for children with special needs
- Student Care
- Elder Care
- Emergency Relief Fund
Joint Projects e.g. Andrew & Grace Home, Grace Orchard School, Xtreme Youth Zone Inc, etc.

All Proceeds of iWalk will go to:
•Dorcas Home Care Services for homebound elderly
•Sarah Seniors Activity Centre for poor elderly in one room-rental flats
•Evergren Circle Neighbourhood Link for frail and vulnerable elderly
•Integrated Education Programme for children with special needs
•Emergency Relief Scheme for families in short term financial crises

ABOUT iWALK
iWalk 2010 is Singapore’s first ever race-walking event. Race walking is the closest alternative to running. It is equally aerobic compared to running, minus the impact. Once basic technique is mastered, race walking is actually an easier sport to progress within because competitors avoid the injuries that continually plague runners.

Date: 15 May 2010, Saturday
Reporting time: 7.30am
Flag off time for Race Walk: 8.00am
Flag off time for Fun Walk: 8.15am
Start and End Point: Angsana Green, East Coast Park (near Carpark E2), see Race Route.
Distance:
- 5 km Race Walk: A competitive 5 km race walk challenge.
- 3 km Fun Walk: The shorter, non-competitive 3km walk, for families and fun walkers.
- Featuring rope skipping performances by Team X-Jump, a cooking demonstration by Chef Peter Chan, free flat-feet awareness screening and many more!
